Calathea Peacock
This bold calathea has decorative green markings on its long pointed leaves resembling a peacock’s tail, giving the beautiful Calathea Peacock its common name. The underside of the leaves are a deep magenta; you’ll be able to admire all aspects of its leaves as they fold up at night and open back up during the day. These plants prefer a warm humid environment and moist soil to look their best.
The Calathea Peacock’s leaves are sure to add a touch of color to any space in your home. This aptly named calathea boasts green spots on the top of the leaves and a rich dark magenta on the undersides. The long oval leaves will add a compact vertical look perfect to shelves and tabletops.
The Calathea Peacock originates from the tropical rainforests in South America and thrives in consistently moist soil and higher humidity. With a little extra care, the Calathea Peacock will flourish in any space in your home. Water when 25% of the soil volume is dry and place in a warm spot away from drafts.
